Online Reputation Repair Services
When the search results already show the damage: remove what can be removed, suppress what cannot, rebuild what should be there.

Online reputation repair is the work of changing what people find when they search a name after damage has been done. It uses three routes: removing content that qualifies for removal, suppressing what cannot be removed, and rebuilding the accurate record that should have been there. We have repaired reputations for companies and individuals since 2008.
What online reputation repair is, and when you need it
Reputation management keeps a good name in good order. Repair starts from a different place: the search results, the reviews or the AI answers already show something that costs you business, and the task is to change that picture in a measurable way.
The usual signs are easy to recognize.
- A negative article, review page or complaint thread sits on the first page for your name.
- Sales calls start with a question about something the prospect read.
- Candidates withdraw late in the hiring process.
- A partner’s due diligence turns up an old dispute.
- An AI assistant summarizes you with a caveat you cannot trace.
Any one of these is reason enough to look at what searchers see.

After a crisis
The news cycle moved on weeks ago, but the coverage still fills the first page for your name. Customers, candidates and partners keep finding it. If the situation is still unfolding today, start with Reputation ER, our emergency response service, and come to repair once things are stable.
After years of slow damage
No single event, only an accumulation: old complaints that were never answered, a forum thread that ranks too well, a rating that slid a little each quarter, an article from a dispute that ended long ago. This is the more common case, and it responds well to steady work.
In both cases the starting point is the same: a written picture of what people find today, result by result, and a realistic view of what can change.
The three routes: remove, suppress, rebuild
Every result that hurts you is handled by one of three routes. Most repair programs use all three at once, on different results.
Remove
Some content qualifies for removal. Google delists results that expose private information. Review platforms take down reviews that break their rules. Publishers sometimes update or de-index old stories, and unlawful content can be challenged. Our guide to removing unwanted Google search results shows which route fits which result. Removal is fast and permanent, so we always check it first.
Typical removals include a home address on a people-search site, a review written by a competitor, a duplicate of a deleted page that Google still shows, and a forum post that breaks the forum’s own rules on harassment.
Suppress
Fair criticism and accurate reporting stay online. What can change is where they rank. Suppression builds and strengthens pages that deserve to outrank the negative result (your site, complete profiles, press, video) until it leaves the first page, where almost all attention goes.
Suppression is ordinary, legitimate search work aimed at one search: your name. It involves no tricks and no fake pages, and it is the route most repair programs depend on, because most damaging content is lawful and accurate enough to stay online.
Rebuild
Pushing one result down achieves little if nothing accurate stands in its place. Rebuilding means current reviews, recent coverage, consistent facts across every profile, and pages that answer the questions people ask about you. It is the part that makes a repair last.
For a company, rebuilding often means a visible record of how complaints were resolved, a steady flow of new reviews and leadership pages that say who is accountable. For a person, it means a complete professional profile, a biography page and recent work published under their name.
How online reputation repair works, step by step
Audit
We record the first two pages of results for your name and its common variations, in every market that matters to you, plus what ChatGPT, Gemini and Copilot say when asked about you. Each result is marked as yours, neutral or negative.
The audit also records who owns each page, how old it is and how much authority it carries, because those three facts decide which route applies.
Sort every negative result by route
Removable under a policy, removable at the source, removable on legal grounds, or not removable. You receive this map in writing, with our honest view of which results we expect to move and which we do not.
This is the point where you decide the scope. Some clients repair one search in one country. Others need a company name, two executives and three languages.
Run the removal round
We file the requests, prepare the evidence, handle the appeals and approach publishers where an update is realistic. For reviews, that means reports against the specific policy each review breaks, as described in our Google review removal guide.
Removal results arrive first, usually within the first month, and they tell us early how cooperative the sources in your case are going to be.
Build and suppress
In parallel, we strengthen what you own and earn what you do not: site pages, profiles, interviews, bylines, video. Every new page states the same facts in the same words, so that search engines and AI assistants repeat them.
We start with the pages that move fastest, those you already own, and add third-party coverage once there is something solid for it to link to.
Measure and hold
Each month you see the position of every negative result for a fixed list of searches, your review ratings, and the wording AI assistants use about you. When the targets are met, a lighter program keeps them there.
You always know what was done, what moved and what did not. If a result is not going to move, we say so as soon as we can see it, so that the budget goes where it has an effect.
Reputation repair for companies
For a company, the damage usually sits in three places: review platforms, news coverage and complaint threads. Review platforms cannot be pushed off the first page, because they rank for almost every brand name. The realistic goal there is a fair and current rating, which comes from resolving the pattern behind the complaints and then asking every customer for a review in the same way.
Employer review sites follow the same logic. A rating on Glassdoor or a similar platform recovers when current employees are invited to review and when the employer replies to criticism calmly and specifically. Deleting reviews is rarely possible there, and it is rarely the fastest way to a better score.
News coverage and threads are handled through the three routes above. Old articles have their own playbook, set out in our guide on how to remove a news article from Google. Once the repair holds, the ongoing work moves into our online reputation management services.
We tell every company the same thing at the start: repair works on what people find, and it only lasts when the business has fixed what people were complaining about.
Personal reputation repair
For a person, the first page is mostly profiles, so repair often moves faster than it does for a company. An executive, a founder or a professional typically needs a complete LinkedIn profile, a biography page they control, consistent facts everywhere, and a handful of credible third-party pages. A namesake with a problem of their own is a common complication, and the fix is to make your own identity unmistakable on every page.
Executives and founders often need repair at the moment it is least convenient: before a funding round, a board appointment or an exit. A few months of lead time makes a large difference, because profiles and coverage take weeks to settle into position.
Private individuals have more removal rights than companies do, especially for personal data and outdated content, and we use them first. The longer program is described in our personal reputation management service.

Repair in AI answers as well as in Google
A growing share of people no longer read ten results. They ask an AI assistant who you are and read one paragraph. That paragraph is assembled from the same sources that rank for your name, so a repair that stops at Google leaves the summary untouched.
Two things differ. An assistant can still read a page that sits on page two, so accurate sources have to be numerous and clear as well as highly ranked. And assistants repeat what the sources agree on, which makes consistent facts across your site, profiles and coverage the strongest lever you have. Correcting what assistants say is the focus of our AI reputation management service, and every repair program includes a monthly read of those answers.
How long repair takes and what it costs
Timelines
Removals are decided in days to weeks. Suppression takes 3 to 12 months, depending mostly on the authority of the negative page: a forum thread moves quickly, while an article on a national news site can hold its position for a year. Rebuilding runs alongside both from the first week.
Three things speed a repair up: a cause that has really been fixed, a client who can supply real material (people to interview, work to publish, customers to ask for reviews), and an early start. A result that has ranked for five years is harder to move than one that appeared last month.
Price brackets
Our brackets are published, and they are monthly.
| Program | Typical monthly range | Typical timeline |
|---|---|---|
| Light cleanup: a few weak negative results, one language | $1,000 to $3,000 | 3 to 6 months |
| Standard suppression program: persistent negatives across several platforms | $3,000 to $10,000 | 6 to 12 months |
| Regulated or high-profile repair: news coverage, several languages, AI answers already affected | $10,000 and up | 9 to 18 months |
What moves a case from one bracket to the next is explained in our guide to what online reputation management costs.
What we will not do
- Promise that a specific result will disappear. Nobody controls Google or a publisher, and anyone who guarantees a removal is guessing or misleading you.
- Post fake reviews or build networks of thin sites. Platforms and search engines detect both, and the penalty lands on you.
- Open with legal threats. A heavy-handed demand often becomes the next story. Legal routes have their place, handled quietly, for content that is actually unlawful.
- Hide a problem that is still happening. If customers are still being let down, we will say so, because the repair will not hold.
Online reputation repair: frequently asked questions
How do you repair your online reputation?
Work through three routes in order. Remove what qualifies: private data, reviews that break platform rules, outdated pages. Suppress what cannot be removed by building stronger pages that outrank it. Rebuild the accurate record with current reviews, consistent profiles and credible coverage. Measure the position of each negative result every month until it leaves the first page.
How do I fix my online reputation?
Start with an audit. Search your name in a private window, list the first twenty results and mark each one as yours, neutral or negative. Fix what you control first: old profiles, outdated bios, unanswered reviews. Then check which negative results qualify for removal, and begin building the pages that will outrank the rest.
How do you repair a bad reputation?
Fix the cause before the appearance. If the complaints are about something real, resolve it and publish a dated account of what changed. Then repair what people find: answer reviews, ask every customer for one, correct the facts on every profile, and earn coverage that reflects the business as it is now. Search results follow the evidence.
Which firms provide reputation repair services?
Three kinds. Specialist reputation firms handle removal, suppression and rebuilding together. PR agencies earn coverage but rarely work on search results. Law firms act where content is unlawful. For most cases a specialist firm leads and brings in the other two when needed. Ask any provider for published prices, a written audit and no guarantees.
How much does online reputation repair cost?
Our published monthly brackets are $1,000 to $3,000 for a light cleanup over three to six months, $3,000 to $10,000 for a standard suppression program over six to twelve months, and $10,000 and up for regulated or high-profile repair. The authority of the negative pages and the number of languages are the main cost drivers.
How long does online reputation repair take?
Removals take days to weeks. Suppression takes 3 to 12 months: a weak forum thread can drop within weeks, while national news coverage may hold the first page for a year. Movement comes in steps, so we report the position of every negative result monthly and you can see progress as it happens.
Tell us what people find when they search your name, and we will send back a written map of what can be removed, what has to be suppressed, and what each would take.
